Don’t Run Commando With Runderwear

UK sportswear brand Runderwear officially launched in the Middle East last weekend with a poolside mini-duathlon featuring 9 locally based triathletes, who put their infamous tri-suits to the test. Runderwear is famous for it’s sports underwear with an innovative edge.

Their selection of purposefully-engineered underwear includes men’s and women’s briefs, crop tops, compression and anti-blister sports socks. Launching poolside last weekend, women’s sports bra’s and the tri-suits complete the package. Famed for their ultimate comfort and performance in the UK, there’s a wealth of events this season here in the UAE where they will most definitely (not) be seen.

What’s so special? ‘The 360-degree seamless design technology with functional flat lock edging means absolutely no chafing. At the same time, technical polyamide fabric wicks sweat away from the body quickly, keeping things dry; while the breathable fabric with micro-perforations controls air-flow. The elastane in the design works with the contours of the body, fitting perfectly and staying in place throughout a workout, and the durable non-fading fabric retains its shape and colour wash after wash.’

Eco-Conscious Activewear from H&M

Blending fashion with function and fitness, H&M has announced that its latest activewear collection is made from totally eco-friendly, sustainable materials. Now we know H&M are great when it comes to encouraging conscious consumerism with their sought-after conscious collection, it’s great to see it transpire across more of the clothing in-store. “Inspired by nature and positive, strong women” the collection revolves around the theme of ‘In it for the long run’ …as we all want our most-washed items to last.

The collection includes; tights, sports bras, hoodies and tops for training, running and yoga. With a precedence on nature and sustainability, the prints and the colours feature Earthy greens, blacks and beiges. So where’s the Eco element? The clothes are made with recycled polyester and elastane and for an added bonus, are made for our quick gym-tan-laundry turnaround too, with quick-dry and seamless finishings.

“By bringing together the functional and feminine, the aim is to give customers a stylish, conscious sports collection. And not just through the fabrics – we utilized a new knitting technique that creates seamless garments while using less yarn or fabric waste. Blending function with sustainable thinking and fashion in this way is the way forward,” says Petra Smeds, head designer of sportswear.

ELEVAETE X Emirati Women’s Day

Celebrating homegrown talent and the love of sport, the U.A.E.’s own unique fitness apparel brand ELEVAETE is creating more than just a statement this Emirati Women’s Day.

ELEVAETE worked with a young local Emirati artist, Amna al Banna, at just 21 and studying graphic design at Zayed University, is known for her passion for calligraphy. With their collaboration, using traditional calligraphy to highlight local culture, Al Banna uses 6 words to represent both traditional UAE culture and sport culture. With these words alone, she’s created unique artwork that is screen printed on two pieces of barre-ready apparel in gold.

ELEVAETE

Both Al Banna and ELEVAETE reflect the same values at their core – victory, strength, faith, passion, energy, life. So we don’t expect them to available for long, these two pieces are a limited edition run set sold either together or separately and named after two of Al Banna’s identified words.

The pieces themselves are a beautiful fusion of tradition and function. A dark, monotone base colour just helps to highlight the calligraphy and each piece is handprinted with care.

We can’t wait to get our hands on set – get yours HERE.
